Diving the Rainbow Warrior and Cavalli Islands

The weather really turned it on for us again at the Cavalli Islands and we managed 8 dives over 3 days, including 3 dives on the Rainbow Warrior wreck and a night dive. It was smiles all around for 15 happy divers.

Congratulations to Mary and Chris on completing their PADI Wreck specialty, also Mathew and Sarah for completing your PADI Advanced course.

This year we pitched tents at the Matauri Bay Motor Camp as all the cabins and caravans were well and truely booked out in January. A big thanks to Jenny Webb for feeding the hungry divers with her huge supply of home baked treats between dives (ginger grunch, shortbread and anzac cookies), not to mention the morning fry ups and evening meals on the BBQ.

Highlights were descending to the Rainbow Warrior wreck amid a huge school of kingfish, the wreck itself covered in colourful jewel anenomes and resident marinelife. Surrounding reefs provided a variety of walls and reefs with schools af Blue Mao Mao swarming over the kelp.

It was so much fun we’re looking at returning in May 2013…stay tuned !
